Senior Star founders William and Robert Thomas were inducted into the Senior Living Hall of Fame of the American Seniors Housing Association (ASHA). In recognition of William and Robert’s significant contributions and dedication within the senior living industry, this honor was presented at the 2021 ASHA Mid-Year Meeting.
“We’ve had a forty-five-year career largely with an emphasis on business excellence and trying to get it right. For the last thirty of those years, our emphasis has been on philanthropic and industry endeavors important to us and others. It is awfully nice for the industry to recognize these attributes and us in this special way,” shared William Thomas.
ASHA’s Senior Living Hall of Fame recognizes “visionary individuals who have distinguished themselves through uncommon foresight” as well as “groundbreaking innovation” and “an unwavering commitment to community lifestyles that enhance choice, independence, dignity and personalized service.” Along with the Thomas brothers, the 2021 Hall of Fame class induction included the late Carl Campbell and Belmont Village Senior Living CEO Patricia Will.
The Thomas brothers are inductees in the Tulsa Historical Society Hall of Fame and the University of Tulsa’s Business Hall. They currently are co-chairing the university’s long-range capital campaign. The Thomas brothers also have served in leadership positions and as advocates for multiple local and national efforts, including Augsburg University, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation of Oklahoma, Domestic Violence Intervention Services, Family & Children’s Services, LIFE Senior Services, the Mental Health Association of Oklahoma, the Philbrook Museum of Art, Memory Gala, Tulsa Area United Way, and the Tulsa Community Foundation.”
“We believe what we do in business and the greater community and how we do it is very important in the development of a fulfilled life.’ says Robert Thomas. “As our personal involvement comes to a close in the foreseeable future, we hope it is the yearning for excellence on both counts, which will continue to make a difference in the industry and beyond.”
