Meet the Chef

Chef Michael Berris


Head Chef at Weber Place

Head Chef Michael is originally from Detroit, & grew up in Ft. Worth Tx, Philadelphia & Cherry Hill, NJ. Michael attended Johnson & Wales College in Providence, RI., & earned an A.A. degree in Culinary Arts. He also worked in South Florida for many years at PGA Sheraton, Jupiter Beach Hilton, The Members Club at PGA National & The Golf & Racquet Club at Eastpointe.

Michael became Executive Chef at Busch Stadium in St Louis, Director of Restaurants at the Sheraton Chicago & McCormick Place. Became Director of Operations at RT 66 Raceway in Joliet & traveled to many NASCAR tracks to assist with the food service during the races.
Became Chef, F & B Manager at Prairie Bluff Golf Club in Lockport, Executive Chef at Aurora University, & now F & B Director at Senior Star, Weber Place

Married 35 years to Susan.
3 daughters, Allison, also a chef, Emily, an attorney in Chicago & Hannah, an honors math teacher in Deerfield.
2 grandsons, Harrison & Henry

Independent Living Dining Hours

Continental Breakfast: 6:30 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.
Lunch: Made to order (no set meal times)
Dinner: 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Assisted Living and Memory Support Dining Hours

Breakfast: 8:00 a.m. – 9:30 a.m.
Lunch: 12:00 p.m. – 1:30 p.m.
Dinner: 5:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.
