With comfort in mind, The Kenwood is also pleased to treat visitors like family – especially through our Respite Care apartments located in our Assisted Living wing.
Whether a guest is looking for a short-term place to stay while recovering from a surgery or injury, or a caregiver is seeking a refuge where they can recuperate, our Respite Care is welcome to family members of Kenwood residents, as well as the general public, based on availability.
Through this offering, visitors are given a noncommittal opportunity to experience life at our community. Respites can stay in one of our fully-furnished apartments, equipped with walk-in showers with grab bars, for a minimum of two weeks and a maximum of 30 days. While here, all their meals will be prepared by a talented chef.
Respites also have access to an attentive team of health professionals ready to make their lives easier, including:
- A 24-hour nursing staff to handle medical administration; call the pharmacy for prescriptions and refills; coordinate lab work and tests; schedule doctor appointments; and assist with bathing and dressing.
- An on-staff doctor to make visits to respites’ apartments and write prescriptions as needed.
- A family dentist to perform on-site dental treatment.
- An on-site podiatrist to provide treatment.
- On-staff therapists to escort respites to fitness center for treatment and for physical, occupational and speech therapy.
- A dietitian to monitor food intake, weight gain/loss and communicate dietary restrictions to the culinary department.
- A psychologist to visit or connect with respites and assist families with any concerns.
