Celebrating Veterans Day at The Kenwood

Past Veterans Day Ceremony at The Kenwood by Senior StarVeterans Day is a special time at The Kenwood. Nearly 85 residents and Kenwood staff members are veterans, and several participate in The Kenwood Veteran Committee.

As we take this time to honor them, we hope you’ll join us for the following events:

Friday, November 10

Veterans Day Luncheon
11:30 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Location: Marquis Theater, 1st floor
Veterans and their guests are welcome to join us for our luncheon on November 10. The luncheon features guest speaker Tim Rodenberg and will include a musical tribute recognizing the individual branches of the U.S. Military.

Evening Showing of Hacksaw Ridge
7:30 p.m.
Location: Marquis Theater, 1st floor
Join the Kenwood to watch the 2016 film, Hacksaw Ridge. It tells the true story of Pfc. Desmond T. Doss, played by Andrew Garfield, who refused to bear arms for religious reasons during WWII and received the Congressional Medal of Honor. Popcorn and soft drinks will be provided. Rated R.

Saturday, November 11

Bob Fore Musical Presentation
2 p.m.
Location: Marquis Theater, 1st floor
Take in the musical stylings of Bob Ford during this hour-long Veterans Day Patriotic Tribute. Bob frequently performs at The Kenwood and has captivated audiences for over 20 years with his folk and folklore style.
