The phenomenon of COVID-19 can be frightening, especially because of its likelihood to target aging loved ones. However, it’s important to keep sight of the positive things and remember that our resilient nation will make it through. At Senior Star, we aim to serve as a beacon of hope and solace by keeping the upper hand over coronavirus and providing an oasis of safety, fulfillment and joy to our nation’s seniors. It is our promise to you that we will go above and beyond to guard against coronavirus entering our communities and addressing potential cases swiftly and seriously.
When this virus rose to prominence, we decided to temporarily stop accepting new residents. This was not an easy decision, but it was the right decision, and it aligned with our ideology of prioritizing people over business. Now, after closely monitoring new information and assessing every variable, we have decided to reopen with extreme caution. Now more than ever, we are at the ready with safe and loving support for those we serve.
Our focus today is to keep residents and families safe while continuing to put love first. We look forward to meeting the new residents and their families, and we would like to take a moment to assure everyone that we did not make this decision lightly; every possible safety measure will be followed vigilantly. Below are some of our new protocols – for the full list please contact us today.
- New resident testing: Prior to admittance, new residents will undergo a screening process, including tracing, COVID-19 testing and temperature checks
- New resident shelter-at-home policy: To maintain communal wellbeing, new residents will be asked to shelter in the comfort and safety of their apartment for a brief time determined by CDC guidelines and recommendations. This will help them acclimate to their new home and ensure a smooth transition into the Senior Star community.
- Approved mover policy: New residents will be asked to select a moving service from a preapproved list of companies that use strict safety protocols to mitigate the risk of contamination or transmission.
- Difference Maker’s Pledge: To mitigate the risk of transmission from our team, associates have committed to practicing safe habits in their personal time, will be participating in ongoing screenings and will be excluded from work with pay if sick.
By using safety measures such as these, we are confident that risks can be minimized, and we can open our doors with great consideration and optimism. Our associates will be wearing special protective garments, yet residents and families will still see the smiles in their eyes and feel the warmth in their hearts. Our focus today is safety, backed by love. We promise to keep a close watch on industry protocols at large and are confident that our safety measures go above and beyond what is expected.
This is why we can say with confidence that you or your loved one will be #SaferAtSeniorStar.
