A Quick Chat with Julie Keller, Resident Services

Much of our success at The Kenwood is due to our family of dedicated associates who live the Senior Star mission each and every day. We recently had an opportunity to sit down with Julie Keller, Resident Services Coordinator, to discuss her role at The Kenwood and what she loves most about her job.

Can you explain your role at The Kenwood? How long have you been working here?

My new role here at The Kenwood is “Resident Services Coordinator.” It entails assisting our residents with any needs they may have (inside the building or outside), with emphasis on concierge-type services. I also help with special projects.

My previous role was “Front Desk Supervisor.” I was hired for that position before our building opened in July 2010. It was absolutely one of the most rewarding jobs I have ever had!

What’s your favorite part about your job?

My favorite part about my job is getting to know our residents. I have developed so many wonderful relationships with them.

What do you think makes The Kenwood special?

The Kenwood is not only a beautiful campus with a state-of-the-art building, but it is staffed with amazing people. We strive to make a difference!

What advice would you give to someone who is considering senior living for themselves or a loved one?

If you are considering a senior living community, my advice is to do your research, determine the needs you have, visit the communities that interest you and ask a lot of questions.

What’s your favorite memory from your time at The Kenwood?

One of my favorite memories from my time here at The Kenwood would have to be my involvement in making a music video with our residents. What a fun day that was!

What do you like to do outside of work?

When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our three boys. I love to travel, golf, hike, swim, run — any outdoor activity is my “cup of tea!”
