Coming together for the Walk to End Alzheimer’s®

Walk to End Alzheimer'sThe Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s® returns to Cincinnati this Saturday, Oct. 7. Held annually in over 600 communities, the Walk is the largest event in the world that raises awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s.

More than 5 million Americans are currently living with Alzheimer’s, a type of dementia that causes problems with memory, thinking and behavior. In America, the disease is the only cause of death within the top 10 that cannot be prevented, slowed or cured.

There is never enough awareness or funding for this incurable disease – and our staff at The Kenwood and caregivers, like resident Edith Samuels, feel the painful toll Alzheimer’s takes every day. That’s why The Kenwood participates in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s® each year, joining our friends at the Alzheimer’s Association and its local Greater Cincinnati chapter.

If you’re interested in getting involved, find more information on the event below and learn how you can support the Alzheimer’s Association before and after the Walk.

Before the Walk

After achieving our fundraising goal last year, we’re looking to reach our $75,000 goal by Oct. 29, 2017. You can support us by donating to our team, joining our team or by sharing the donation link with friends and family via email, Facebook (embed FB post link) or LinkedIn (embed LI post link). Every dollar raised benefits those affected by Alzheimer’s disease in our community.
